How to perform regular maintenance of the generator

generator Although the machine is relatively simple in construction, regular servicing is a must here. Already when choosing, make sure that the generator service specializing in your chosen brand is within reach, spare parts for generators are readily available, and always leave generator repairs to experts. So what to do to keep the machine in trouble-free operation for as long as possible?

At every start

It doesn't matter if you turn on the central unit once a week or every day. Before every start, it is necessary to check several basic things. The first is the oil level in the engine. This should extend to the edge of the neck of the oil container, or it should be at the same time as the line for the maximum amount of engine oil on the container.
We also check the condition of the air filters. Especially if the central office is in operation in a very polluted and dusty environment such as a construction site, in this case we check the filters several times a day to prevent them from becoming completely clogged and damaging the engine.

Cleaning air filters

Cleaning clogged filters is relatively easy. First you need to pull out the filter cartridge. Then we knock it out and blow it through. The filters also include a removable foam sleeve, which is ideal to wash in warm water (watch out for flammable products!), wring it out well and let it dry. If you find that the cuff or other part of the filter element is damaged in any way or cannot be cleaned, replace it.

Engine oil - when to change it?

It doesn't end with regular oil checks. As in any engine, i u generators it needs to be replaced. Before changing it, we should let the central unit warm up, wait a while and change the oil before it cools down completely. Thanks to this, it will be perfectly liquid and will take any impurities with it.
Get the liquid out using the drain screw located at the bottom of the container. Don't forget to place a closable container for used oil under the valve. We should also have new oil ready for the headquarters. If you are changing it for the first time, the correct product type will be listed in the service booklet or manual.

Regular replacement of candles and filters

We change candles and filters after 100 hours of operation, or every 12 months (whichever comes first). We change the air filters at this interval even though we have taken sufficient care of them before each start of the central unit. When replacing, we also clean the entire area around the filter.
