Oil seal (shaft seal) for the output end of the crankshaft of the WEICHAI WP2.3D25E200 engine used in the Hahn & Sohn HDE20SS3-DW diesel generator. Prevents oil leakage at the point where the crankshaft exits the engine towards the generator rotor.
The crankshaft oil seal is a rubber sealing ring with a rubber sealing lip and an integrated spring that surrounds the rotating shaft and prevents engine oil from leaking out of the crankcase. It is located on theoutput end of the crankshaft— where the shaft exits the engine and transmits rotation to the generatorrotor.
- The seal measures80 × 100 × 12 mmand features adouble-lip design with a spring— this is a standardised size commonly used across various engines, rather than an unusual one-off part. Nevertheless, the exact dimensions and type must be observed to ensure that the seal reliably withstands the pressure and rotational speed of thisengine.
- A leaking or hardened/cracked seal will be indicated by an oil stain beneath the generator and a gradual loss of engine oil — it is a common wear part that should be replaced during every complete engine overhaul or whenever this area is disassembled.

WHY CUSTOMERSCHOOSE IT
- Standardised size 80×100×12 mm— proven seal type used worldwide
- Exact match for the WEICHAI WP2.3D25E200 engine
PRACTICALTIP
When installing a new seal, lightly apply a thin layer of engine oil or sealing compound to the outer circumference (metal casing) and a small amount of oil to the sealing lip — this makes insertion easier and prevents damage to the lip when the engine is first started. Press the seal in evenly, never at an angle, ideally using a suitable installation tool.
KEY FEATURES
- Type: oil seal (shaft seal)
- Size: 80 × 100 × 12 mm (inner diameter × outer diameter × width)
- Material: rubber (NBR)
- Location:outputendofthecrankshaft
- Designedforengine:WEICHAIWP2.3D25E200
- Compatible generator: Hahn & Sohn HDE20SS3-DW (20 kW / 25 kVA)
USE / INSTALLATION/OPERATION
- Disconnect the generator from the power supply and drain the engine oil.
- Remove the cover/component behind which the seal is located on the output end of the crankshaft (according to the engine service procedure).
- Carefully pry out the old seal, clean the seating surface, and check whether the shaft surface is damaged where it contacts the sealing lip.
- Apply a thin layer of oil to the sealing lip of the new seal and press it evenly into place using a suitable tool (do not strike the seal directly with a hammer).
- Reinstall the cover/component, refill the oil, and check for leaks after starting theengine.
