Lower connecting rod bearing shell for the WEICHAI WP2.3D25E200 engine used in the Hahn & Sohn HDE20SS3-DW diesel generator. It forms a pair with the upper shell and together they create the complete bearing surface for the connecting rod on the crankshaft.
The lower connecting rod bearing shell is installed in the connecting rod cap (unlike the upper shell, which sits directly in the body of the connecting rod) and together with the upper shell forms a complete circular bearing surface on the crankshaftjournal. It carries the same dynamic load as the upper shell — during engine operation, both halves evenly transfer forces from the piston through the connecting rod to the crankshaftjournal.

USE/INSTALLATION/OPERATION
- Remove the oil sump and connecting rod caps according to the service procedure.
- Remove the old bearing shells (upper and lower) from the connecting rod and its cap.
- Before installing the new shells, inspect and measure the connecting rod journals on the crankshaft.
- Fit the new lower shell into the connecting rod cap so that the locating tab engages in the groove.
- Reinstall the cap and tighten to the specified torque.
Installation requires experience with combustion engine servicing and precise measuringinstruments.
